Illustrative and Decorative Content: Initial letters to Epistola and Praefatio illuminated in gold red, blue green and pink; first page of Liber Primus initial Q illuminated in gold blue green and red, elaborately illuminated border with coat of arms in center of lower margin; other letters supplied in blue and red, some filligreed in gold.
Binding: Bound in red morocco, double ruled border in gilt, center panel bordered in gilt, spine elaborately gilt in seven bands edges of cover and inner border of inside cover gilt; marbled endpapers.
Additional Details: Two errata leaves were printed in a Gothic type at a later date and are absent from the majority of copies, including this one. From the collection of Charles Spenser, 3rd Earl of Sunderland (Puttick and Simpson, Sale IV, Nov. 16, 1882, lot 10871).
